How rental payments work
Payments run directly through the platform rather than a provider you contract separately. Checkout is whitelabel, so your customers see your brand, and payment cost is invoiced separately from the software commission at a rate that improves with your package.
The deposit is the part that matters most in rental and the part most payment setups get wrong. A deposit should not be a charge you take and refund — that costs you a transaction fee twice and leaves the customer out of pocket for a week.
Here it is a pre-authorisation: the amount is held against the card without money moving, it releases automatically on a clean return, and it only becomes a real transaction if you settle against it after damage. Placing and releasing a hold costs nothing.
